Bringing to life the digital revolution in Latin America
Ironically, the best way to bring to life new technology is to give it a human face. Over the past month we benefited from this “artificial artificial intelligence” to demonstrate some the tectonic shifts from Atlantico's annual LatAm digital report .
It has now been five weeks since this year's report went to press, so we decided to share a few of our favorite in-real-life demonstrations and discussions of the themes and cases from this year. Also, for those looking to break into venture capital we posted two new (rare) job openings for our team (for an investing role as well as a research fellow role working on next year's report and much more).
The week of the report launch we were joined by 100 CEOs of many of the largest companies in Brazil for an intimate presentation of the report highlights. You can watch a video from that launch presentation here (it's in Portuguese, but you can easily turn on the English subtitles for this and the other videos, thanks to AI).
Given a major theme of the year was Artificial Intelligence, we also featured three short live demonstrations from AI cases from the report. AI at work in education is truly inspirational as Thiago Rached from Letrus showed us. Marcos Gurgel walked us through iFood's implementation of AI in his presentation while Roberto Oliveira from Blip showed us the power of conversational technologies turbo-charged by AI.
One of our favorite discussions on the implications of AI was about what creativity (and culture!) in the era of AI looks like. For that we brought together Brazilian artist Vik Muniz with one of our favorite contemporary samba and MPB musicians Roberta Sá and notable digital creator and blogging pioneer Camila Coutinho. The debate (video here) between these cultural leaders was awesome (and a lot of fun!).
As always, we welcome your feedback as well as suggestions on topics and cases you may want to see explored in future editions. Feel free to connect to us (and write us) on social media (Atlantico on LinkedIn and @JulioV on Twitter/X). Thank you for reading!
